I Can See Clearly Now

Thanks to my friends over at the Sports Frog for finding this link.

This article from Slate.com raises a very interesting question:

Should having LASIK eye surgery be considered "cheating"? Does the term "cheating" merely apply to performance-enhancing drugs, or should it equally apply to performance-enhancing surgeries, like LASIK? LASIK can give you better than perfect vision--in a person with "perfect" 20/20 (meaning you see at 20 feet what a person is supposed to see at 20 feet) vision, the cornea would be spherical; to get 20/10 (you see at 20 feet what a normal guy sees only at 10 feet) or 20/15 is virtually impossible through any means other than surgery.

That's not natural, any more than anabolic steroids would be. I'm not sure where I draw the line, but this article raises some very interesting moral and ethical considerations.
