This is an amazing 1987 PBS documentary from Bill Moyers about the history of United States covert operations in the name of national security. It's long (96 minutes), but fascinating. Though it's 20 years old, it still retains a great deal of importance and relevance today.
WARNING: The Jackson Browne song at the beginning is terrible. Don't let that stop you from watching the rest of the film.
