The Morning Rush

I am excited to confirm that Ron Tillery will be my new co-host in the mornings. The Morning Rush will officially begin on June 20th, two weeks from today. This is a very ambitious move on Ron's part as well as on Sports 56's part. He will continue to be the Grizzlies' beat writer for the Commercial Appeal as well as my regular co-host. Even when the Grizzlies are on the west coast, Ron will be on the show. To try something like this is unprecedented in this market. I cannot tell you how excited I am to work with Ron. If you have heard Ron all over our airwaves, from "Tuesdays with Tillery" to "Inside the NBA", then you know how smooth the guy really is. Of course, the fact that no one in this city is closer to the Grizzlies organization than Ron will be a great benefit to the show. No one will have better basketball guests; no one will talk more knowledgeably about the NBA than Ron and I.

Here's a little secret--Ron's not just an NBA guy; he knows a lot about college football, college basketball, and the NFL. I can assure you this will not be just an NBA show. As we get closer to the launch, I'll let you know a little more about some of the ways you can be a part of the show. Ron and I both have some innovative ideas that are going to be unlike anything you've ever heard. The Morning Rush is going to be different, it's going to be informative, but most of all, it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun.
